Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lesson Studio ("we", "our", "us"), a studio management app for private music teachers, their students, and students' parents or guardians. By creating an account or using Lesson Studio, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Who Can Use Lesson Studio

• Teachers must be at least 18 years old and are responsible for the students and parents they invite to their studio.
• Parents must be at least 18 years old.
• Students may be minors. Student accounts are created only through a teacher-issued invite code — Lesson Studio does not allow open self-registration for the Student role. A teacher who invites a student represents that they have the authority and, where required, parental or guardian consent to do so.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at the contact below if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Lesson Studio offers a free plan and a paid "Studio" plan, billed monthly or annually through Stripe. New teacher accounts include a 30-day trial of Studio features; no card is required to start a trial.
• Only teacher accounts can subscribe to or manage billing. Students and parents are never charged and never see billing information for their studio.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time from Account settings; access continues through the end of the current billing period.
• Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the messaging features to harass, threaten, or send inappropriate content to any user, including minors.
• Attempt to access another user's account, data, or studio without authorization.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the security or authentication of the service.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable child-safety or education law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, and message content may be reviewed in response to a report for safety purposes.

6. Content

Practice logs, messages, assignments, and other content you submit remain yours. By submitting content, you grant Lesson Studio a limited license to store, process, and display it as needed to operate the service — for example, showing a student's practice log to their own teacher and linked parent. We do not sell this content or use it for advertising.

7. Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers are independent instructors, not employees or agents of Lesson Studio. Teachers are solely responsible for their relationships with their students and families, including tuition arrangements tracked in the app, lesson scheduling, and compliance with any school, district, or professional obligations that apply to their use of the service.

8. Termination

You may stop using Lesson Studio and delete your account at any time from Account settings, or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or poses a safety risk to other users. Upon deletion, your data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Lesson Studio is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lesson Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
